SETECH INNOVATES PEDAL POWERED HAND WASHING MACHINE FOR COVID 19 AND BEYOND

As part of our contribution towards addressing the COVID 19 pandemic, setech with its partners peetech fabrications has developed an innovative pedal-powered hand washing equipment that end-users do not need to touch with their hands to get infected.iThe innovation comes in various sizes that will mee the needs of end-users. With the increasing number of COVID 19 cases, companies and SMEs are looking for opportunities to make life saver to end-users. Our hand washing pedal machine dispenses both soap, sanitizers and water for cleaner washing of hands. We look for more partners to work with to scale up these initiatives.

SETECH SELECTED INTO ORANGE CORNERS COHORT 2 GHANA PROGRAM

Orange Corners is a Netherlands Government Funded project for eco-friendly entrepreneurs who are working on scaling up innovative climate smart technologies in the green economy value chain. SETECH was selected as part of the entrepreneurs in the 2nd phase of the project cohorts. The experience of being part of the Orange Corners Program gives us prestige and the increased knowledge and expertise in effectively managing our business and increasing sales and networking in the global business arena. SETECH WINS EDF PULSE AFRICA GHANA AWARD

SETECH Ghana became the winner of the Ghanaian stage of the EDF Pulse Africa innovation contest on 17th September 2019 to represent Ghana at the Grand Finale in Paris, France in November 2019. The Award was issued by the France Ambassador to Ghana Mrs Anne Sophie AVÉ who was also a member of the Jury. SETECH is an innovative clean cookstoves technology provider that seeks to develop and promote innovative clean cookstoves to enhance household energy access. SETECH is developing an innovative and affordable clean biomass gasifier stove technology with a thermoelectric generator to enhance cooking as well as generate electricity for households in off-grid communities whiles cooking. SETECH WINS JUMPSTART21 ENTERPRENEURSHIP AWARD

Jumpstart 21 is an entrepreneurship support competition, based in Germany that offers unrestricted funding to any seed or early-stage entrepreneur with a focus on achieving positive social or environmental impact in Sub-Saharan Africa. SETECH was selected in June 2018 to benefit from the Jumstart21 mini-grant for its innovative clean cooking technologies that provide positive social and environmental impact in Ghana. SETECH was awarded the mini-grant after being taken through rigorous entrepreneurial processes and currently being considered for the Tailored funding

SETECH NOMINATED FOR SEED AWARDS 2019

The SEED Awards for Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Development is an annual awards scheme designed to identify the most innovative and promising locally led start-up eco-inclusive enterprises in developing and emerging economies. Each year, multiple award categories are offered, ranging from country- or region-specific awards to SEED Low Carbon Award Winners and SEED Gender Equality Award Winners SETECH was shortlisted among the top 10% of about 900 applicants in the first stage of the SEED Awards selection process. To us at SETECH this is an honour for such an international platform to recognize our efforts in promoting innovative eco-inclusive business enhances environmental and social impact in communities.

SETECH & ISEES DEMONSTRATES CLEAN COOKSTOVES AT AFRICAN CLIMATE WEEK

SETECH and the Ghana Climate Innovation Center staged an exhibition at the African Climate Week held at the Accra International Conference Center to showcase innovations in clean cooking technologies being developed at SETECH. SETECH demonstrated various stoves especially with focus on biomass gasifier stoves for the clean cooking industry.

COOK WITH PELLETS AND BRIQUETTES TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT

The CEO of SETECH, Mr. Lovans Owusu-Takyi as part of a community cookstoves demonstration workshop encouraged households to cook with pellets and briquettes in clean biomass gasifier stoves to improve the health and livelihoods of households in Ghana. He said biomass gasifier stoves has been seen as highly efficient over the carbonized stoves and helpful in improving the health of women and children in the households. Pellets and Briquettes are made from agro-waste and therefore reduces the overdependence on forest and trees as sources of fuel for cooking.
